Fitz and The Tantrums

Fitz and the Tantrums played The Norva on Sunday night, getting all of Norfolk on their feet dancing along to their neo soul/indie pop fusion tunes.

The band, which consists of frontman and namesake Michael Fitzpatrick, vocalist Noelle Scaggs, Joseph Karnes on bass, Jeremy Ruzumna on keyboards, John Wicks on drums, and James King on saxophone/flute/keyboard/guitar, were fully on fire in Norfolk. Their energy was unmatchable, with Fitzpatrick and Scaggs leading the crowd along with energetic dance moves, clapping, and their captivating stage chemistry.

Fitz and the Tantrums covered all the songs the crowds knew the words to, from recent hits “The Walker” and “Out of My League” to their more seasoned hits “Breakin’ the Chains of Love” and a confetti-sprinkling “MoneyGrabber.” Their cover of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” was a welcome delight to the Norva audience, which gladly sung along. Overall, the setlist was very well received in Norfolk, and the crowd fully enjoyed turning the Norva into a dance party.

Look for Fitz and the Tantrums to visit a town near you while they are touring this year, and if you haven’t already, be sure to pick up their latest release ‘More Than Just a Dream.’
