The beautiful Ashley Greene hosted CW's Fashion Forward: Making It. A documentary-type special showcasing the industry's biggest fashionistas and designers.
From exploring Alexander Wang's start in fashion to Tabitha Simmons' start as a stylist for the biggest designers and fashion magazines in the world and current gig as a designer; This was a perfect segment for people who don't know what it takes to put together an outfit. Style is everything, and everything is style. She even showed models like Naomi Campbell, Alessandra Ambrosio and Gisele Bundchen walking a maze of a runway for a fashion show.
The segment on the British born duo David Neville and Marcus Wainwright was most interesting. How someone who worked in an office doing something that couldn't be more on the opposite side of fashion became a fashion designer was incredibly intriguing.
Celebrity giants like Halle Berry are huge fans of Rag and Bone, the line Neville and Wainwright discovered. Beginning with denim and expanding to just about everything, Rag and Bone has become one of the biggest fashion lines in the country with guidance from fashion legends like Ralph Lauren. Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, even raves about the duo.
Fashion Forward even gives a nod to Gossip Girl for being one of the biggest fashion shows on television. Of course both shows are on the CW, but there is no denying the fashion sense of the Upper East Side.
The show also gave a nod to singers turned designers Justin Timberlake, for his line William Rast and Gwen Stefan for her line, L.A.M.B.
This month only, William Rast has a limited run at Target for more affordable pieces. Get there soon before they run out!
Fashion Forward: Making It finished off with stories on Alice Ritter, Bibhu Mohapatra and Prabal Gurung.
The show was a great expression of what fashion is all about. From major designers to those who may not be household names, just yet, the show brought life to designers striving to make it to the cover of Vogue.
What did you think of the show? Did it bring out your inner fashionista?
