The tagline is Faith, Family and Ducks.
I bet you know what that means! If you don't, then you should, because it’s a book all about Duck Commander, the subject of the hit A&E show Duck Dynasty, a window into the family and business lives of a few rednecks who’ve really made it big. Willie and Korie Robertson wrote this book spilling details of their family life past and present, and how Duck Commander as a business came about.
I was SO excited to dig into this book because of how much of a fan I am of Duck Dynasty. And it didn't disappoint at all. It really was great to read how their family life was behind the cameras. Korie’s and Willie’s family lives are so diverse from each other, though this honestly isn't that surprising. You can tell by the way Korie carries herself on the show, with her high class demeanor, that they must have had completely different childhoods. They also go into the way they raised their own kids, including their adopted one, and the foreign college student they support. You get insights into life on their side of the camera, and what it’s like being a part of a show about their family. And of course, what it was like to start up their huge business venture.
The writing was easy to follow and now I cannot wait for the book written by Papaw Phil! It comes out in May. The only thing I could’ve wished for would have been to have a little more about each of the other people they have on the show like Uncle Si, and that it would be a bit longer. But that doesn't take away from the book as an entire whole – it was still quite amazing! If you love the show then you should for sure check this one out! You won't be disappointed.
