You may know MinLuxe for doing fabulous nails, manicures and pedicures. Now in their Wellesley, MA location, you can receive a fabulous skin care treatment as well. What sets their treatments apart from other fluff and buff facials is the use of the Ultrasonic machine. The Ultrasonic uses sonic pulses to infuse water and serums into the skin to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate for the best results.
This week I tried out one of these special treatments at MiniLuxe in Wellesley and I would recommend checking it out if you are in the area. I received the “Flash Hydration” treatment from my esthetician Donna and at the end, my skin literally felt like a baby's bottom.
The treatment began with a double exfoliation cleanse, using the Ultrasonic machine and a salicylic wash which purge the pores of dirt and oil, followed by a cucumber micro-bead cleansing to remove dead skin. For the hydrating step my esthetician customized the use of a retinal serum which is a vitamin A derivative to really drive moisture deep down, then used a hydrant stabilizer serum to keep moisture in the pores.
Manual extraction are not usually part of an Ultrasonic facial but the esthetician still performed them which was much appreciated. Afterwards my skin was infused with more of the hydration serum before being completed with a glycolic moisturizer and SPF 30 which altogether protect and stimulate collagen keeping the skin smooth, plump and of course, hydrated.
The treatment was 30 minutes total (which is great for a lunch time pick me up) and the overall experience was great. I do hope that as they expand their skin care options to other locations and the services becomes more popular, that there will be a larger area for these mini treatments (and mini massages as well) for the full spa experience.
