The Logitech G930 gaming headset has a variety of top notch features that are all folded into one amazing package. At first glance you can see the quality of materials as well as workmanship that has been put together to create this uncontested, top of the line headset. There is a lot of competition when it comes to gaming headsets, so when you're looking it can be tough to find which one is the best value and has the most usable features. With this particular unit those questions have been taken out of the equation.

Installation is a breeze once you load the software onto a PC you will be able to set the hot keys for quick access to your music programs, voice morphing, and chat. At this point everything you need will be at the tip of your fingers without having to touch the keyboard again. When assigning the keys you will have to choose from the available list that is pre-arranged for the headset in the program. Before you can receive the 7.1 surround sound you will have to install the software that will enable it. If you are in a hurry it is plug and play and it will just work out of the box without the software, just not to its full potential without the specific drivers that are on the disc.

If the movies or games you are using are programmed with 7.1 then it will play in 7.1. If they are not then the G930 will simulate the surround effect upgrading from whatever the input is to higher quality sound. There is a surround sound switch on the side to go back and forth from surround to stereo without having to go to the computer to adjust. I found this to be very convenient when going from a movie in 7.1 to stereo for playing music. These bad boys work perfectly up to 40 feet away through walls even down to a lower level of my house running on 2.4 GHZ RF wireless. This, faster than blue-tooth connection, is completely lag-free and keeps you in real time as the battle rages. The directional sound quality is amazing with the laser tuned drivers that create a 360 degree battlefield so what you cannot see you will definitely hear giving you a huge advantage over your opponents.

The Logitech G930 Gaming Headset has been outfitted with memory foam for the ultimate comfort and fit. Virtually all outside sound is eliminated once you put these headphones on canceling out up to 26 db of noise. This really allows you to get immersed into the game without any distraction. Logitech has also made improvements over-all shedding some of the weight of this headset from its predecessor, the G35, helping those long gaming sessions to continue on even longer.

Beyond gaming these are also great for podcasting. The noise cancellation the microphone provides even allows the user to listen to music while being on a call and having no one hear it except them. The unit does a great job of balancing multiple volume levels among applications while multitasking.

The built-in folding boom, auto mute, noise canceling microphone works flawlessly. Everyone who has been on the other end of this mic whether it be in-game chat or a Skype call has asked what it was I was using to get such a clear sounding mic without any background noise. To mute the mic just fold the boom back up there is a light on the end of it as well so you can tell when it is on or off or you tap the convenient mute button directly on the left side of your headset. There is even an 8 channel equalizer built into the software so you can tweak the sound to perfection.

The battery life is very good. A full ten hours of playback can be achieved with a 2.5 hour charge time. If you have exceeded the ten hours and you're still going, not a problem you just plug into the USB charging disc and continue on as it charges back up while your still using them. The charging disc is as stylish as it is functional. The excess wires can be wrapped around it and kept out of site while sitting right on-top of your desk. They also have included the USB port for the dongle standing it straight up in the open and freeing up the slot that you would have had to use on your PC.

I have found these headphones to be of superior quality sound wise as well as for the comfort.

Once again Logitech is taking it to the next level. The 7.1 surround sound in a wireless headphone with laser tuned drivers. If you're looking around for this type of quality in another brand plan on spending at the least $100 more than these will cost you. If you are in the market for PC headphones you have to take a look at Logitech G930 Gaming Headset.
