Not many guitarists stick out alone among the mountain of musicians ruling the airwaves it seems. In these days of radio all sounding pretty much the same day in and day out; Kiko Loureiro stands alone in the way that Steve Vai, Gilmour, Lifeson, Metheny, and so precious few had the ability to do.
Kiko Loureiro has the talent and the personality in spades. Much like several musicians that I have come to know and speak with he is extremely thoughtful and positive about what he does. And like them, he is very passionate about it all.
A member of prog metal band Angra, this is his 4th solo effort and has all the ingredients of blowing people away like Vai did when he surfed with an alien. It is titled Sounds Of Innocence and it means to play much like a child with no hang-ups and no rules of the road; all is possible. With each track being unique unto itself one needs to really listen to the entire album to truly appreciate the genius that Kiko is. Get it immediately!
