Thanks to movies like Bridesmaids, the ladies are heading into the R rated comedy route and having some decent success. They have shown that woman can deliver just as much raunch and fun as any man and the latest to take the challenge For A Good Time, Call…tries to keep the trend alive. The trailer delivered some pretty funny moments and potential to deliver another fun female R comedy, but does it have all the necessary meat to give more than what the trailer teases you with?

For A Good Time, Call follows two old frenemies who move in with each due to uncontrollable circumstances but are still struggling to make it. In an effort to change their lives both financially and mentally they start up a phone sex line, but find out it may not be as easy as they had planned. Usually these films offer way more in the trailers than what you actually get from the finished product. This film actually delivers not only the laughs advertised, but manages to step it up a notch to what was expected from the subject matter. While they never really pushed the limits far enough to really make this movie even funnier, it still does enough to keep it entertaining and on the fence. The actors all give decent enough performances and seem to have decent chemistry. This is a rated R comedy with a bit of raunch, but at the same time crafts an interesting love story to go along with it that goes in some directions you may not expect.

While it’s nothing all that new and doesn’t break down any comedic walls, this film still manages to entertain way more than expected. Add to that some pretty entertaining cameos that are really worth the time and you have a fun little movie here. If you need a good borderline raunchy comedy that your girl will enjoy too, then give this one a try.
