Day One

After a hectic drive from Philadelphia to Pocono Palace, the couple arrived at Pocono Palace Resort in the evening. The author's mate checked the couple in the hotel at the main lobby which also houses the dining area and the lounge to begin their stay at the Fantasy Apple Suite. The tri-level room offers an experience on each level. The first floor is a living room quarter with a refrigerator and a window access to the lower level. The second level of the room is the bedroom area, equipped with a circular bed, jacuzzi, a flat screen area and a beautiful view of the resort's private lake. The couple inspected the room before unpacking. The room was clean, but when the author went to view the pool, a strong odor of chlorine could be smelled but was not strong enough to cause warning. The couple ran the jacuzzi water to see if it worked, it ran hot and cold water, but a weird smell arose from the jacuzzi area (as if the tub was not in use for awhile). After the author unplug the jacuzzi, the smell was not present. Without being alarmed because of a few mishaps, the couple unpacked and got ready for dinner and checked the room before heading to dining area for dinner.

The dinner was great. The couple was greeted and seated form the hostess. The couple enjoyed a buffet style dinner with carious foods from teriyaki chicken, baked ziti, chicken parmesan and more. The food temperature was just right nad plentiful. With more room, the author decided to get a few desserts before calling it a night. The resort had cupcakes, baklava (good but cold), cannoli and pumpkin, Not picky, the author tried all three desserts minus the pumpkin pie. The resorts had activities in the lounge area (a comedy show and quiz show for the couples). After a fulfilling dinner, the couple decided to go to back to their room and participate in the activities the next day.

Day Two

The couple arrived to the dining area for breakfast. The buffet style breakfast offered various of breakfast food such as turkey, pork and beef sausage links, oatmeal, grits, fresh fruit, muffins (very moist and soft) and more. As the couple ate, they overheard other couples discussing the comedy show and stated the comedian "had to deal with a tough" crowd! After breakfast, the couple explored the gaming area and discovered a game they both love, eight ball pool! After the author had won a game of eight ball pool, the couple enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in their hotel room. In the night, the couple got ready for dinner and finally enjoy the activities the resorts had in store that night.

The couple arrived at the dinning area for a dinner and saw the area was packed. Couples filled most with seat in the dining area. Due to the excessive crowd, the dinner took awhile to arrive, but thanks to great crab bisque, a few soft drinks and the serenade from the piano player, the couple waited patiently. When the dinner arrived, the host apologized for the wait, but the food was worth it. The author dinner consisted of Seafood Wellington (salmon and crab) with steamed vegetables and a baked potato. The author's mate dinner for the night was a nice size of, and the author's mate had Chicken Pasta Florentine. The food was very tasty and filling and had to be packed for another time. The author had a little bit room for dessert, ice cream with whatever topping you could imagine! Strawberry, Reese's pieces and crumbled peanut butter cups, rainbow sprinkles, walnuts and so much more. The couple decided to go to the lounge for the nights activities, another comedy show and games for couples. When the couple arrived to the lounge, the area was empty! It was not late in the night (before ten (o'clock) and no further activities. As a couple resorts, you would want activities for later in the night. The couple went back to their room and enjoyed the night.

Day 3

While arising to the view of the beautiful view of the lake, the couple had to come to the realization their mini vacation was almost over! Before going to breakfast and checking out, the couple packed their belongings and did a sweep of the room to make sure personal items were not left in the room. The couple headed towards the dining area to enjoy one last delicious buffet style breakfast before leaving the facility. After the breakfast, the couple checked out and was allowed to stay on the resort to enjoy the gaming area. Before the couple headed out to go on the road for a two hour drive to Philadelphia, they had decided to enjoy another game of pool. Unfortunately, the author lost all four games of "pool", but she is currently sharpening her pool skills for another round of pool!

Overall, the stay was relaxing and would refer couples to stay at the resort. The staff was accommodating and polite, but most importantly, the room was clean and had a scenic view of the lake. The author gave the resorts four stars due to the minor maintenance issues mentioned, and suggests that the resort maintenance and/or cleaning staff regularly test their appliances prior to room usage and check the levels of the pool chlorine. Also, the resort should consider having activities for couples later in the night.

***This review is an honest account from what the writer had experienced on her recent stay at the hotel. The author was not paid nor bartered to review the Pocono Palace Resorts.***
