Last nights Emmy awards ran just over three hours and even the charming Neil Patrick Harris couldn't save the show from becoming another lifeless snooze-fest. The show opened up with past hosts, Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Lynch and Conan O' Brien jumping on stage during Harris's opening monologue giving him advice on hosting and poking fun at his delivery.
“Take it in, because there’s a good chance they won’t ask you back next year,” Kimmel said. While this might be true, the show managed to pull in its highest ratings since 2006 with just over 17 million viewers. So with a show that was watched by so many people, why does this award show continue to bore?
Well, there was nothing remotely close to a Miley Cyrus moment and we all know these types of situations make for a much more entertaining ceremony. They just continued to drag, one award after the other and even the amazing Carrie Underwood gave just a lackluster performance
So who took home the big awards? It was an exceptional night for Modern Family, Behind the Cadelabra and Breaking Bad as they took home the top awards.
