Being a paranormal investigator can be an expensive venture. The rise of apps has led one cell phone device to become more than just making calls. To hit the ghost hunting market, there is an EMF Sensor available.
An electromagnetic field sensor (EMF) detects fluctuations in the surrounding area, measured in units called millgauss(mG). High levels of EMF can cause strange sensations and sever cases hallucinations. EMF sensors help detect these levels and appropriate action can be taken. However, it is believed that unexplainable fluctuations in EMF during a paranormal investigation can mean the presence of a spirit/ghost.
The EMF Sensor by Code Bros. is available as a free and paid Android app, turning your phone into an EMF detector using the magnets within your phone. The app displays the mG measurements and you have an option of a graph display to show the different levels as it changes. Additionally, in the free version, you are able to turn on sound, change ranges and more.
How accurate this app is for the user to address and develop their conclusions. During use of the app, you’ll notice the numerical display of mG is continuously changing. This is due to EMF never being constant. It is recommended to keep the graph display on to have a visual of major fluctuations. Tested against the use of a microwave which emits high EMF even when not running, this app has shown the significant increase in levels when in use. Being put to the test with other electronics and lighting this app a proven that it can detect fluctuations in of EMF levels.
So, if you’re looking for an inexpensive way to measure EMF levels on your ghost hunt, this app is worth giving a try. If you’re looking for superior accuracy and may be using it for of documenting numerical value in fluctuations or data driven scientific research, you may find that purchasing a Tr-field meter may be a better option, yet costly (avg. $100).
Remember that this is an app, not an actual meter. Give it a go and see what you think.
