- Commentary With Director Tom Hooper
- Q&A With The Director & The Cast Including Colin Firth
- The Real Lionel Logue Highlights
- Speeches From The Real King George VI
- Making of Featurette: An Inspirational Story of An Unlikely Friendship
The Oscar winning pair absolutely shine in this oddly interesting film about the stammer of King George VI and although Helena Bonham Carter nearly nicked the nod for the little man with the golden bod, her performance and presence is one of resolute beauty and brilliance.
A nice array of extras reside in the King’s court, covering everything from two actual speeches made by King George VI to an entertaining Q&A with the cast of the film, including two of the three key characters, Helena Bonham Carter and Colin Firth. Director Tom Hooper’s commentary is quite commendable as well as the all too brief Lionel Logue highlights which were conveyed and reminisced over through an interview with his grandson. Finally there is a great Making Of Featurette, An Inspirational Story of an Unlikely Friendship which is quite thorough and well worth the usual fleeting glance.
So even with his scandalous stammer and temper that hit like a blow from a hammer, you will bow to the bravery and tenacity of Colin Firth’s King George VI as he victoriously delivers The King’s Speech.
