The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas hosted a fundraiser at the Zach Scott Theatre on March 20 named Pack the Zach. It was held on the same date as Amplify Austin to maximize potential donations. The event was a success and the party goers had a fun time bidding on items in the silent auction, enjoying food and drinks as well as playing the Heads or Tails game for door prizes.

The silent auction at Pack The Zach included items from Terra Toys, James Avery, Central Market, Austin City Limits, Circuit of the Americas, Dirty Dog, Kendra Scott, How Do You Roll and many others. The bidding was frenzied and excited bidders got their bids in at the last minute so they could take their winnings home with them.

A game of Heads or Tails was played where everyone had to pick thumbs up or thumbs down and then a coin was flipped. The last person standing won a raffle item. Some nice items such as a gift certificate to Uchi were handed out.

A photo booth was a highlight of the DSACT Pack the Zach party. Party goers took four photos with props and were able to print them in black and white. Check out the Examiner slideshow of our exclusive photos from Pack The Zach.

Event sponsors included the Austin American Statesman, HomeAway, Southwest Strategies Group, Reagan, Beck Associates, HEB, Prosperity Bank, RBFCU Credit Union and Central Market. Additional sponsors of Pack The Zach were Nothing Bundt Cakes, Orb Recording Studios, Life Is Sweet Photo Boutique, David and Allie McCann, La Patisserie and Kay Marley-Dilworth.

Help DSACT continue to fund education for children and adults with Down Syndrome today by volunteering for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas or by making a donation.
