VeeV was launched in 2007 by two brothers, Courtney and Carter Reum, after a surfing trip to Brazil where they discovered smoothies made with the Açaí berry, known locally as “purple gold” because of its health properties. Inspired by the wonderful super fruit, they left behind their investment banker roles at Goldman Sachs with a singular goal to start a unique sustainable liquor company and never looked back. The name VeeV is a playful take on the French word for “live.” Intended to uplift and inspire, VeeV represents our philosophy to live consciously and to always have fun.
When entertaining guest, sometimes you just want something fun and easy. Making cocktails is cool but we don’t always have the know how or time to make cocktails, that’s why VeeV’s Vita Frute cocktails are perfect. It’s a great way to start the summer and end the summer. With only 125 calories per serving and 15% alcohol, it pack a punch but not on your diet. It comes in 3 flavors, Margarita, Lemonade and Cosmopolitan. At a tasting in NYC, I found out the Vita Frute was really good with a mixed cocktail or by itself. The cherry on top is the Vita Frute drinks are all organic for the exception of the margarita. On top of all of this VeeV donates 1% of all sales to rainforest preservation.
Overall, Veev on its own is a pretty good with ice, I would recommend mixing it a bit but it’s not required. Vita Frute is great chilled or with ice, when mixing it, keep it simple; it’s already a ready-made drink. Below I added some of my favorite simple VeeV cocktails to enjoy Labor Day weekend.
