He's won Emmy Awards for his popular talk show and written best-selling health books such as "YOU: The Owner's Manual: An Insider's Guide to the Body That Will Make You Healthier and Younger" and "YOU: On A Diet Revised Edition: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management" (click for details). Now Dr. Mehmet Oz is expanding his health empire to include a new magazine, entitled "Dr. Oz: The Good Life."

After reviewing the first issue, we're rating it five golden carrots out of five. From how to shed 10 pounds in four weeks to how to eat like Dr. Oz (ahhhh, guilt-free chocolate), it's a magazine that's more than worth the money. Get the details, including how to get your own copy, below.

Did you resolve to lose weight in 2014 and can't seem to win the battle of the bulge? Then get ready to jump-start your weight loss with a foolproof plan that includes three meals, a snack and even a treat each day. From recipes to a Healthy Meal Builder to tips for getting your diet game on without stress, it's a plan devised by Janis Jilbrin, R.D. and author of the upcoming "The Pescetarian Plan: The Vegetarian + Seafood Way to Lose Weight and Love Your Food" (click for details).

A sample day from this divinely delicious diet (all recipes are included in the magazine):

  • Daily Treat: An ounce of dark chocolate or a cookie with a cup of tea
  • Breakfast: Yogurt with nuts and berries
  • Lunch: Peanut butter and apple sandwich
  • Dinner: Mexican casserole
  • Snack: Baked tortilla chips dipped in guacamole

It's designed to provide you with 1,600 calories a day. You don't need to stress about counting calories or carbs, and you'll lose 10 pounds in just one month.

Also included in the first issue of the magazine: Which vitamins you really need, how to get baby-soft skin, financial tips to make more money and (our favorite) how to eat like Dr. Oz (including pasta dinners).

The magazine is a joint project of Dr. Oz and Hearst Magazines. It's available on newsstands nationwide. In addition, you can get it in digital format: Click here for information.

Dr. Oz has set a specific goal for the contents:

There’s an inextricable link between health and every area of our lives. I want this magazine to be the place for women to find information that enlightens them, but also delights them and emotionally connects with them, so they can make the best decisions to live full, happy and joyful lives.

Each issue of the magazine will open with “From the Heart,” a letter in which Dr. Oz shares his vision, personal anecdotes and scrapbook-style photos.

In addition to his “Ask Dr. Oz Anything” column answering readers’ most pressing health, nutrition and lifestyle queries, he weighs in with advice throughout the magazine on everything from the healthiest way to cook pasta to the best approach to a social hug. Each issue closes with a recurring column, “Dr. Oz’s Prescription,” an inspiring call to action for readers.
