Down EP released on vinyl

The supergroup Down, lead by vocalist Phil Anselmo, have released the EP "Down IV Part 1 - The Purple EP" last September and on February 26 will be releasing it on vinyl. One of the things I love most about Philadelphia it's love of vinyl records. This record would be easily found at places like Relapse Records on 4th Street or Repo Records on South Street. Of course it can also be ordered online.

The six track release kicks off with "Levitation" an incredibly heavy song with an awesome groove. The EP moves right into the incredible single "Witchtripper". The video for which is awesome it looks like a creepy old black and white horror movie, complete with of course a coven of witches. The EP continues through four more songs ending with "misfortune Teller" which in my opinion has the some of the best drum tracks and vocals on the whole EP.

Some fans may have been a little concerned that with the departure of Rex Brown that this release might not be that great, well it's not, it's AMAZING! It absolutely lives up to the legacy already built by the first three albums. It is as heavy as "NOLA" but more of a doom sound to it, like "Over the Under" only heavier. Stick around fans, cause this is only part 1 rumor has it there are three more EPs to follow.

Track Listing:

"Levitation"

"Witchtripper"
