Douglas Nelson "The Exact Nature of our Wrongs"

San Fran based blues/folk/Americana musician Douglas Nelson is serving up a hot dish of grits with this 2006 LP.  Burning the ether with Chuck Jennings blues guitar stylings that would make for an intese battle with B.B. King himself, this CD is packed with musical moments that'll make you press 'repeat' so you can catch it again.

"Dollar Bill" starts us off with the universal gist of what drives many into madness with a stellar guitar solo. The blues style to this number accentuates the lyrics, which Nelson has a knack pulling off the entire album.  "Here to Stay" dances into the old school western tunes with a sweet melody and fiddle playing that solidifies the beauty of the song.  "In the Moment" has a spiritual/gospel beat to it that'll keep your toe tappin'. "Movin on" wraps this CD up nicely with a great Americana beat and perfect sentiment that allows the album to flow outward into the universe and into your earbuds.

Even though this CD is listed as folk, it easily spreads from blues/western/spiritual/americana.  It gives a diverse feeling with a solid style structure that carries through each number allowing Nelson to explore similar genres, while stretching his musical wings.
