"Parker" is based on a novel series by crime writer Donald E. Westlake. Though, I am not filimar with this book series I am familiar with the rough and tough Jason Statham. Being a big fan of most of his movies I headed to the theater to watch Jason in action.
I was sorely disappointed in the overall story line. The movie starts on a a good note drawing you in as wonder how the thieves are going to pull off the heist. But, as the movie goes on the story falls to the wasteland.
As Parker heals himself you are taken on a journey of multiple different scenes that make the movie move along like snail crossing the road. Then out of the blue, Jennifer Lopez's character Leslie Rodgers shows up. We learn about her sad story and we feel bad for her but you are still left asking the question, "what is her purpose in the movie?"
Both Jennifer and Jason do their best in the roles they play. When you get right down to it the story line and script are left lacking. The actions scenes were bloody & lacked the true fight scenes that has made Jason an action star that we crave to see in action.
This is defiantly a movie to wait to see at the dollar theater or Red box.
