The Canine Fitness Center, has been bringing the benefits of aqua-exercise to dogs for over 10 years. Offering swimming, an underwater treadmill, acupuncture and massage, this is the place for your pup to get fit and burn off some energy while gently working muscles without impact.
Aqua-exercise is perfect for dogs that are recovering from an injury such as a torn ligament. Over time the muscle will begin to strengthen, enabling them to return to their normal activity in a shorter time. It's also a great way for your dog to have pure enjoyment.
The pools are 14 feet wide by 26 feet long and are 4 feet deep and are kept at 80 degrees. Chlorine is used to keep the pools germ and bacteria free. The level of chlorine is lower than municipal pools and is safe for your dog. Your dog is also rinsed off in fresh water after his swim.
Vaccination records, including Rabies every 3 years, Distemper, every 5 and annual Bordatella are required. They do not make exceptions to these rules, for the safety of all their canine guests.
Swimming offers great recreation and fitness benefits to dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. On my visit, the establishment was clean, comfortable, well kept and the staff is friendly, personable and very knowledgeable.
Space is limited and appointment are required, so call in advance and have your vaccine records ready to bring in or fax.
The Canine Fitness Center is closed on Sunday and Monday. They are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am - 8pm. Saturday 8:30 am - 5pm.
