Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #1

The amazing folks over at Titan Comics are letting the Eleventh Doctor live on in a new comic book series. The comic is written by Al Ewing, known for Loki: Agent of Asgard, Mighty Avengers, and Trifecta, and Rob Williams, known for Revolutionary War, Miss Fury, and Trifecta. The art is by Alice X Zhang and Simon Fraser. In this new series we get to see what the doctor is doing while Amy and Roy Pond aren't around.

The story starts off pretty sad and I love how the art work shows the sadness by using the white and gray art. We get to meet Alice Obiefune. She has just about lost everything and really needed some help in her life. And "Who" is a better person to see when your feeling down other than a "Doctor"? Things start changing very quickly for Alice and soon she is starting to feel better. Simon Fraser does a wonder job with the art and using grays and bright colors to show different emotions.

The story gives it all to us. We get the same ol' caring and silly 11th Doctor along with a exciting adventure with aliens. And what Doctor Who story would be complete without chasing a alien dog, that eats sadness, through the streets of London? It's a beginning of a beautiful and adventure packed friendship that I can't wait to continue.
