Today on Feb. 13, Examiner.com is excited to shared our thoughts on the Milly presentation, which we attended this fashion week. Uptown met downtown at Milly by Michelle Smith's A/W '14 runway show at Lincoln Center. The designer debuted her latest collection, one chuck full of the pretty party girl looks we know and love, all with a hint of sophistication and extravagance. Fashion Week regular Anna Kendrick joined Solange Knowles and Skylar Grey on the front row.
The collected exuded elegance and simplicity. Smith started the show with work ready separates of all different fabrics and textures. We loved the soft ivory sweater paired with high waisted camel skinny pants, a furry pink sweater over a silvery metallic knee length a-line skirt, a pair of black pants completely covered in fringe, and a pair of gold sequined pants.
But it was truly the outerwear and evening wear that reigned supreme. A fresh white peacoat was especially a favorite along with an oversized feathered ivory vest and a zipped white jacket with feathered tails. A black tiered ruffled gown was a fresh take on a mullet dress and a black lacy sheer dress took center stage.
Highlights included a white belted feather vest paired with a soft pink ruffled skirt, an oversized camel blazer over a sheer white ball gown skirt, and a completely sequined silver pantsuit. Beauty was fresh and emphasized the models' natural beauty while still remaining chic. Jewelry line, Eleanor Kalle, was showcased on the Milly runway.
