If you are already a fan of Old Major, you have no doubt waited patiently for the launch of their weekend brunch, which debuted just last week. If you haven’t yet been to Old Major, get there quickly before the whole of Denver beats you to it.
The taste adventure takes place in a venue supportive of our city’s attempt to reduce the carbon footprint and encourage local farming. Repurposed wood sets the scene for exploratory dining, fueled by an in-house butcher, sustainable-seafood and local liquor. The open kitchen concept welcomes your curious eye into the world of exceptional food preparation.
Best of all, Chef and Owner, Justin Brunson, as well known as he is, can almost always be spotted hard at work in the Old Major kitchen when he’s not taking the time to greet his guests.
What’s on the brunch menu?
A good variety of breakfast favorites with a unique Old Major twist, like the smoked pork Benedict that balances a hint of subtle salt with the rich flavors of hollandaise.
The breakfast pork burger builds upon the irresistible dinner-menu burger (which ranks at the very top of my personal Favorite Burgers in Denver list) and pairs well with their homemade gluten-free bread.
As far as drinks go, blood orange Mimosas are always a safe bet, but next time I’ll be more daring and order the Bloody Mary that comes complete with a meat stick; with a butcher-inspired, nose to tail concept, Old Major wouldn’t have it another way.
An abundance of pork, exceptional pairings, exciting drinks and professional service make this Denver hot spot worth returning to.
Now you know where to brunch this weekend!
