For some lighter fare at Denny's Restaurant in Cape Coral, check out the Fit Fare® selection of breakfast items. They are all under 550 calories, but you'll want to also take a look at the nutritional values chart where you'll find other numbers that may be important to you, like carbs and sugar levels.
We tried the Fit Fare Omelette that features egg whites, mushrooms, spinach, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo. While other Denny's serve this meal with a side of two turkey bacon strips, the Cape Coral location offers a huge bowl of old-fashioned rolled-oats oatmeal with cream and brown sugar on the side. The omelette also comes with a nice selection of bananas, grapes, blueberries and sometimes apple slices.
We found the Fit Fare Omelette to be nice and smooth, fluffy, with a generous amount of vegetables. Satisfying and delicious. The omelette's size is not over bearing as is sometimes the case in restaurants that believe more food to fill up the plate, the better it is. As for the oatmeal if you're a instant oatmeal lover, you'll find the rolled oats to be a thicker and chunkier variety. You may also be able to substitute the oatmeal for a different side.
Denny's has been feeding America for 60 years, and the newer menu changes are a testament to the chain trying to offer better varieties of healthier food.
