Delia Latham's Jewels for the Kingdom is yet another excellent and inspiring read of hers that you are sure to enjoy. I know I did immensely. I have enjoyed her Solomon's Gates book series and it was really nice to read another story from her. This is a newer series she is working on with some other authors and she very kindly sent me this story for review. I am always grateful to get and read her stories!
Jewels For the Kingdom excerpt from Delia's webpage:
"Pia Peretti’s past could destroy her future. Thanks to her pre-Christian lifestyle, she can’t marry a believer, and she won’t marry a non-believer. Minister David Myers wants to help Pia release her guilt and trust that God has forgiven her...but the young minister is working through his own trial of faith.
After a failed counseling session with a wounded soul, David's confidence is shaken. He accepts a new pastorate, and moves to Angel Falls to find a haven for his wounded heart.
Is it possible these two hurting hearts are meant to mend each other’s brokenness with some divine intervention?"
Two people come together in an unexpected way, a car accident. They then find they will be living in the same place, where there are rooms for single people; similar to small cottages or apartments, but in a peaceful environment for one to start afresh.
Pia Peretti doesn't want to be set up. In fact, believes she doesn't really deserve meeting a great guy. She has settled on being alone and working her new jewelry business where finds a way to bless others with. I don't want to give away how, but it is a special gift only she has. It is really fun to see how Pia comes out of her shell and allows for the possibility of something more. As someone starting over, similar to Pia, it is very refreshing to see how anything can be possible. And with a dash of faith, even more so...
I highly recommend Jewel's for the Kingdom and any of Delia Latham's books. Like me, she is originally from the central California area too! She and I grew up in towns only about an hour and a half away from each other. It is always nice to hear about local writers and read their books. You can learn more about her at her webpage where you should visit and get to know her and her writing. Her writing is beautiful and inspiring.
There are also other books in the series you can check out on the series blog. It looks like there is a Halloween one coming out soon too that I can't wait to read. And Delia's has had a couple more books out since Jewels for the Kingdom called Lexi's Heart and Treehouse; both of which I want to read as well. Enjoy!
