Scott Snyder and Jim Lee have been kicking all kinds of butt with their latest series featuring the Man of Steel and they show no signs of slowing down. With the latest issue of Superman Unchained Supes goes full throttle after his would-be ally, Wraith, in a seismic battle ranging from deep space to the ocean’s floor and ultimately the core of the earth! Meanwhile, Lois Lane holds the key to defeating Ascension, but she needs to reach the Fortress of Solitude to ensure its safekeeping, but she’s being pursued by a heavily armed force, and it isn’t Ascension!

As with the last 5 issues in this series Lee and Snyder are bringing their A-game to the world of Superman. This issue starts to reveal more secrets, but more importantly lets Superman cut loose a few times not only against Wraith, but on Lois’ captures as well. Snyder somehow keeps bringing some great story elements to all the DC books he is involved in that always feel fresh and new but keeping the old school mentality of the characters intact. Lee continues to churn out amazing work with every panel. His visuals are as dynamic as ever from the big action set pieces right down to the simple panel of two people having a conversation. This issue does somewhat end the story building up between Superman and Wraith, but with all series just opens the doors to more questions and clearly a bigger fight. With any Superman book other heroes aren’t that far behind and this issue is no different with appearances by Batman and Wonder Woman as well as some fantastical creatures within the Fortress of Solitude.

Don’t miss out the best Superman book out there from one of the best teams around with Superman Unchained # 6 available now. If for some strange reason you have missed out on this series then get out there and get caught up before it gets too far ahead, you will not be disappointed.
