The Justice League leads the charge as the premiere team in the DC Universe. Over the years there have been numerous incarnations with varying team members making up different factions including Justice League Dark and the Justice of America. Now they are taking them in another new direction with the new series Justice League 3000 from creators Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis, and Howard Porter.

Justice League 3000 follows a different version of the Justice League but what are these heroes doing in the year 3000 and who or what brought them there? Once again DC has managed to create an outlet to play with existing characters without messing with the normal continuity. This time it jumps into the future and opens up a variety of questions of where this series is heading, but still setting everything up to understand the world itself. The artwork from Howard Porter is pretty cool using his unique style to not only create a cool vision of the future, but also some great new designs for the flag ship team of the DC Universe. The dynamic of the characters is great with a clear hatred for each other and just all around complete opposite attitudes to what fans are used too. The addition of a certain set of twins controlling everything made for an interesting twist to these characters that can easily come off goofy, but here are pretty cool.

This is a great first issue setting up a series that could be really awesome if it keeps to the path it has started. This is a chance for them to let loose and have created versions of the Justice League that will be a lot of fun to see in action.
