With the Forever Evil story in full swing, it has allowed the villains to take over the entire DC Universe. While most of them are well known villains, from the ashes of this story it was no surprise that a few new surprises would spring to life. One of the more interesting came with Batman: Joker’s Daughter # 1.

Who is she and what horrors lurk in the mind of this deranged lunatic, and why is there more to her than meets the eye? More than just a crazy person who stumbled upon The Joker’s face, more than just a woman with a mission, The Joker’s Daughter sees herself as a woman on the path of greed, dominance and lordship over the Gotham Underground. This is one of those interesting looks into the mind of a psychopath. There have been numerous crazed characters that have joined the Joker’s gang over the years, but rarely do we get to see what drives them other than being a criminal. The story here is not just interesting, but cleverly connected to the Joker’s most recent fate ending one story and creating not only another story, but crazed new villain to the Bat-universe. The character design and artwork make this issue play like somewhat of a horror show, while keeping the usual Batman detective and action aspect intact.

This is a character that may or may not be long for the DC Universe, but one that will hopefully get some ample issue time to flesh her out. This Forever Evil idea is spawning some great stories and directions and thankfully Jokerr’s Daughter came out of it and will hopefully be around for some time to wreak havoc on Batman and Gotham City.
