Batman Eternal # 2

Creators Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Jason Fabok bring the next issue to the latest entry into the Dark Knight lore with Batman Eternal # 2. In this issue Gordon has been arrested and Batman sets out to prove his innocence all while a notorious adversary appears for the first time in The New 52 universe.

Snyder continues to bring the Batman genius to every story he works on and this series is no different. This issue tones down the action to let the story begin to build and not only set more aspects in motion, but takes the chance to bring in new players as well seeing the reaction to other members of the Bat family. Jason Fabok brings such powerful imagery to his stories. Each panel stands out with the characters emotions coming across beautifully and sometimes more impressively than the action set pieces. This story seems to allow Batman to be more of a detective as opposed to just the action.

While this isn’t an action packed issues it is one that is important to move the story forward. With an appearance by the other members of the Bat family including Batgirl, Red Hood, Red Robin as well as Catwoman helps to keep it cohesive with the other titles, while making sure it stands out on its own.
