Flamboyant. Loud. Bold.
Those are some of the words that can be associated with the styles of local retail outlet, Body Central. Last week, my gal Sarah and I visited Body Central, located in Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, and we really weren't sure what to expect prior to our expedition. However, we did find one of the most trendy places in the area for both jewelry and apparel. Honestly, this writer was pretty impressed with the color schemes that Body Central had to offer.
As far as apparel is concerned, Body Central has a pretty wild variety of styles, from the black and white combos we're seeing on the runways this season to the classic Boho look. At the very back of the store, Body Central had a vibrant display of pretty much their most glitziest red apparel that was definitely striking.
Additionally, the jewelry selection of Body Central varies- most of the designs have a vintage gold and pastel look, as well as the ever popular earth tone jewelry. The mediums of jewelry also varied- metallic, faceted crystal, and beaded bracelets, earrings, and necklaces decorated almost every rack.
Not only does Body Central have a great selection of jewelry and apparel, but their prices are incredibly reasonable. Most of the jewelry ranged in price from $3.00-$10.00- which is considerably reasonable for costume jewelry nowadays. Ultimately, Sarah and I made our final selections of two brightly colored red, leopard, and tan outfits paired with a vintage style gold beaded necklace.
Really and truly, the only thing I didn't find impressive about Body Central was the store's selection of footwear. Some people may like platforms, but I personally found most of the styles of heels and boots impractical. The only choices available seemed to be 6" heels, sandals, or boots.
However, Body Central has it together when it comes to the retail industry. The store was very clean, the racks were well organized, and the sales staff created a friendly, low pressure atmosphere. Patrons have the ability to try on outfits without being pressured into buying something they don't really like.
In the Louisville area, Body Central has locations in Jefferson Mall and Mall St Matthews. For online shoppers, they have a pretty cool and easy to navigate website.
All in all, Sarah and I enjoyed our girls' day out and found a nifty little store that we both liked. Body Central would definitely rank as one of my top favorite stores, and I would go almost as far as to say that I like it almost as much as I had liked Gadzooks that had existed in Towne Mall so many years ago. If you're looking for a stylish and trendy place to find affordable apparel and accessories, Body Central is definitely the place to look. If you live in the area or just happen to be passing through, Body Central is definitely a hot spot worth checking out.
