I am a little late to the party; most of the Los Angeles vegan foodies have made Crossroads their go-to splurge restaurant of choice. My Facebook feed is littered with delighted check-ins and photos of mouth watering tapas plates.
The rumours were not exaggerated. Crossroads Kitchen on Melrose Avenue is everything I imagined and more.
Still packed months after its opening in May 2013, Tal Ronnen's beautiful, dimly lit restaurant is magical upon entering. There's a main dining area and bar (where delicious, fresh cocktails are prepared; they even make their own mixers!), then two little dining areas, one of which is used for first-come-first-serve lunch during the day.
I went to Crossroads twice just to write this review, on account of the fact that I stuffed everything in my face the first time and forgot to take pictures. The food is that good.
From the cheese plate to the 'shrimp cocktail' made out of meaty lobster mushrooms, Crossroads hits it out of the park.
