Tacos are one of my favorite meals of all-time. Not until recently did it occur to me to switch out the everyday ground beef tacos for ones that included shredded chicken. Further more, it never occurred to me to make tacos in a slow cooker. But thanks to www.mychocolatetherapy.com I was able to locate an amazingly delicious recipe for crock pot chicken tacos that has become a staple in my go-to recipes.
The recipe for this dish is as follows:
- a 1 ounce envelope of taco seasoning
- 6 thawed boneless skinless chicken breasts
- a 16 ounce jar of salsa
- 1 pack of soft taco shells
- Dump first three ingredients into the crock pot.
- Stir vigorously.
- Cook on high for four to six hours or on low for six to eight hours.
- Serve on taco shells with toppings of your choice.
- Shredded Cheddar
- Shredded Monterey Jack
- Sour Cream
- Black Beans
- Pinto Beans
- Refried Beans
This is one of the best crock pot recipes that I have ever come across. There are only 4 main ingredients and it only a matter of sit it and forget it. Another wonderful thing about this recipe is that you can customize it to fit your taste. Any topping that you want to put on these chicken tacos works. You could even use hard taco shells if you wanted to. You can choose between mild, medium, and hot when it comes to the taco seasoning and salsa. The possibilities are endless!
