If haven’t heard of Corebar it is an amazing workout that truly targets the midsection. I was lucky enough to test out the class with US Corebar Master Trainer Kim Turi. After class I sat with Kim to ask her a few questions about her background in fitness and how she became involved with Corebar.
What is your background in fitness?
I have been teaching Group Fitness classes for over 25 years; I have been AFFA Certified since 1988 I have been the General Manager of American Woman Fitness Center since 2002. I became a Us Master trainer for Corebar in August of 2012 and am now in place to get the program up and running in the US market.
How did you get introduced to Corebar?
Corebar was at the Philly Mania Convention in 2011 and once all my girls from the gym tried it there they were hooked, we had to get the program. (We all go to Philly Mania as one big group) Corebar was brand new to the US market that year, to do our training at the gym they had to fly over from Norway to accommodate us. Corebar originated in Norway in 2006 and just won fitness concept of the year in Europe, we are getting into the market now in various health clubs, YMCA's, studios and more.
What makes this workout unique?
Corebar classes are unique because of the specially designed "corebar" it uses to assist in maintaining spine integrity as someone performs multi-panel movement while keeping the heart rate elevated. This all in one concept workout is intense, and challenging but provides fast and visible training results in a very FUN format: A stronger body from the inside out. Corebar training is a total body system, employing the principles of metabolic training and the combination of varying cardio exercises that include strength, balance, agility, and endurance.
I like that Corebar classes focus on the Core but give the participant a complete workout as well in a very FUN and functional format. I love the way I feel after I teach a Corebar Class; the class gives my body balance because it works from the inside out.
