On Feb. 1, country singer Julie Roberts performed her first sold-out StageIt show, in an effort to celebrate her birthday.
She opened her set with “Mama Said Don’t,” where she was backed by an acoustic guitar player.
“Can ya’ll hear Mama’s horns?” Julie asked her virtual audience as her mother was blowing horns in the background to celebrate her daughter’s birthday.
She followed it up with “Wake Up Older.”
“Thank you so much,” Julie said gratefully and continued with a new song entitled “Gasoline and Matches.”
“I wish ya’ll could see Mama dancing here,” Julie said with a laugh.
She delivered an emotional yet controlled rendition of “Men and Mascara” and followed it up with “If You Had Called Yesterday,” a tune from her eponymous debut studio album.
Other fun vocals were the up-tempo “No Way Out” and yet another new song “Old Habit.”
Julie noted that “Let’s Fight” was inspired by her musical heroine (Patsy Cline) and she delivered a rendition of the tune.
It was followed by her signature song and Top 20 country hit “Break Down Here” and the equally moving and melodically stunning “Rain On a Tin Roof.”
Ever gracious, Julie thanked her virtual audience for tuning in tonight, despite a short show and she promised that she will do more of these shows in the future.
