Concert review: Chris Young wows Long Island with an evening of country music

On Feb. 17, country star Chris Young played at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Long Island and he was backed by a five-piece band. The Joe Bayer Band opened for him.

His setlist featured five No. 1 songs including “You,” “Tomorrow,” “The Man I Want to Be,” “Voices” and “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” which garnered him a Grammy nomination for “Best Male Country Vocal Performance” in 2011.

The RCA Nashville recording artist also sang several new tunes from upcoming CD, as well as his current radio single “I Can Take It From There.” He even sang a rendition of ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man,” which was a real treat for the Long Island crowd.

In summation, Chris Young showcased a lot of energy and he gave the NYCB Theatre an evening of country music to remember.
