One person shows are hard to do. There's just you up on the stage, with no where or no one to hide behind. It either works or it doesn't.

'Coming Out Kinky' for the most part, works...I have to admire writer/performer, Jean Franzblau on her courage, to admit before the world or at least before a small audience, that she's kinky.

After all, people in this country are not exactly comfortable when it comes to the subject of 'sex'...Just look at movie ratings...Films that show men getting blown up or women getting mutilated, come away with an 'R' rating...But show a naked couple making love and chances are it'll receive an NC 17 or what use to be known as an X..

Having said that, 'Coming Out Kinky' is about a woman who discovers, what turns her on and what doesn't.

Now that 'Fifty Shades of Grey' is on the bedside of practically every soccer mom in America and beyond, I doubt if anyone, would find Miss Franzblau's sexual preference, all that weird.

In 'Coming Out Kinky', we follow Franzblau's journey of sexual awakening, starting with her childhood. She plays over 20 characters, including her mother and older sister.

Jean shows us that she has a great deal of emotional neediness, that at times, gets in her way of relationships with men.

It isn't until a friend takes her to a private club, where she's formally introduced to, BDSM aka... bondage/domination/sadism/masochism, that her true calling is revealed. Jean is a submissive and with role playing, she is able to finally experience, complete emotional satisfaction.

'Coming Out Kinky' is at times, amusing and at times, slightly indulgent, especially when Franzblau decides to dance. For me, the dancing just didn't fit and took me out of the story.

Having said that, I do admire her honesty and recommend checking out her one woman show..
