Located at the corner of Route 34 and Bill Street in Plano is the quaint little restaurant with the big menu and something for everyone. The real appeal of TK’s is not only that their menu is diverse and appealing, but also that the food is prepared fresh, resulting in high-quality, good food fast.

Not a typical burger or hot-dog joint, TK’s menu includes an entire page of ice cream creations, including the relatively unique flavor burst, which infuses a swirl of flavor directly into the soft-serve ice cream. TK’s boasts eleven different flavors of soft serve ice cream in addition to ten flavors of hand-dipped, resulting in endless possibilities and combinations of cones, cups, sundaes, shakes, malts, “Tornadoes,” and “Boston Shakes.” Sundae toppings include hot fudge, caramel, strawberry, chocolate, turtle, and a “Ryno Sundae” consisting of butter pecan flavor burst ice cream with chopped Snickers, caramel, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. No shortage of imagination here, and customers are certainly encouraged to use their own to create a personalized, unique ice cream creation.
The rest of the menu is just as diverse and includes burgers, grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches or wraps, Italian Beef and Sausage, Chicago Style hot dogs, Polish Sausage, corn dogs, Bratwurst, salads, Gyros, Philly Cheesesteak, hand-pulled pork, and grilled cheese. Sandwiches are also offered in meal combinations that include their superior hand-cut fries. Also available are Sweet Potato fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fried pickle spears, breaded mushrooms, and fried Mac and Cheese wedges.

Also, regular non-menu specials are offered such as a steak sandwich, shrimp basket, and seasonal fruit bowl. For example, one special is the Hawaiian Chicken sandwich which is a marinated chicken breast topped with a slice of grilled pineapple. The flavor combinations work perfectly together to produce an interesting sandwich far superior to anything a typical fast-food restaurant might offer. The chicken is well-cooked, the bun fresh, and the pineapple and marinade produce an excellent flavor and texture pairing. Combined with the hand-cut fries that are cooked and seasoned the way hand-cut fries should be results in a dining experience as interesting as it is enjoyable. A must-try when available.

Prices are absolutely reasonable for such a diverse, high-quality menu: burgers range from around $4 to $7 for the TKO burger which is a triple cheeseburger with "everything" plus thousand island dressing; grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches and wraps from right around $5; salads from just under $5; Chicago Style hot dog at under $3, or a regular hot dog or corn dog for $2, Italian Beef for $5; Gyros, Philly Cheesesteak, and Pulled Pork run around $5 to $6. The meal deals add a medium drink and fries and range from $6 for a hamburger meal, $7 for a Chicago Dog meal, to right around $8 for a gyro meal. Ice Cream ranges from $1 for a kids “Freezie” to $2 to $3 shakes, and $3 to $5 sundaes.
