Collision: The Latest Exhilarating Ride by the Amoralists

The Amoralists theater company has expanded its claim on the creative jungle of New York City over the years with successful runs of tightly run productions. Their latest work; Collision, a new play by Lyle Kessler is another jewel to be added on the list of successes.

James Kautz, Nick Lawson, Anna Stromberg, Michael Cullen and Craig ‘muMs’ Grant are each an ingredient for an explosive cocktail crafted under the direction of David Fofi. The premise of strangers brought together by unknown circumstances is not an uncommon theme. However, the intense dialogue and interaction among the four characters add unexpected angles and twists. Each character is introduced to the audience as he or she enter the spartan college dormitory room shared by two roommates played by James Kautz and Nick Lawson. The location of the theater itself also brings to credence the level of audience engagement. With the close proximity to the New York University campus just few blocks away, one can imagine the stage as a real university dorm room with actions unfolding within.

From this innocuous beginnings, the magic of the great Amoralist ensemble breathes life into Lyle Kessler’s work to grip the audience’s attention with each scene. The Collision is playing at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater located on 224 Waverly Place (2nd Floor) until February 17th. Tickets are available online or by calling 866-811-4111.
