The awaited new In Motion EP dropped today, after a few problems had forced the release date back from it's original in December. As the old adage goes "good things come to those who wait"; and this certainly holds true for Cold Black and their fans. The result is five solid, well-written tracks that not only show a good musical progression, but lots of thought, hard work and talents. There is an audible sense of maturity that comes naturally as a band goes into it's new album cycle and you can see it and hear it across various elements in the music.

It is first and foremost heavier than the From Scratch EP. The vocal performance is great and there are stand out contrasts of crisp, melodic cleans, gritty metal influences and deep and pit-of-your-stomach growls that perfectly overlap to compliment one another. The instrumentation is solid and well arranged, with hard-hitting breakdowns and a constant upbeat energy that drives each song. Every song has something a little different than the one before, making each song unique but equally as enjoyable.

The first single from the EP is These Lips Will Go Blue, which was released in November. The official music video is out now. A video for Constellations is coming in February.

In Motion EP is available on iTunes now.
