I recently received a bag of "Jamaican Me Crazy" coffee from Coffee Bean Direct (which was established in 2004), and I was excited to try it. I'm always up for trying different flavors of coffee.
After taking a big whiff of the ground coffee in the bag, I wasn't thrilled. The smell is a little off-putting, but I went for it anyway. Once the coffee was all brewed, however, the smell was fabulous. Now the real test begins -- taste.
The coffee consists of "a tropical blend of vanilla, caramel, and Cafe Maria Liqueur flavors," and overall, it has a fantastic taste. If you like your coffee crazy strong and bold enough to snap you awake, this isn't for you. Consider this variety more of the pet gently nudging you awake wake-up call as opposed to the blaring alarm clock you want to throw across the room. This is for those who like a smooth, slightly sweet, and sultry finish to their coffee. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, and actually, I don't drink it every day, but I can guarantee this bag is going to get finished.
The Jamaican Me Crazy coffee has a smooth body and medium acidity and was blended with beans from South America. It comes in whole bean or ground, and costs $12.30 for a 1 pound bag, $39.75 for a 5 pound bag, or $192.50 for a 25 pound bag.
So should you try it? Absolutely. Drink on, coffee fans.
