This year, Coco Rocha was elected as host of the 7th annual Supima Design Competition during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. For this year's competition, Supima partnered with some of the top design schools in the country: Academy of Art University, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Fashion Institute of Technology, Kent State University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Savannah College of Art and Design. Each school had to elect one of its top graduating seniors as a finalist for the competition. Each finalist brought a unique concept and design of the infamous Supima fabric, which included high-end shirting, luxury tops, and woven fabrications. However, there could only be one winner, and that was Anastasia Lafrate of Kent State University. She was the gifted student who impressed the judges and walked away with the $10,000 cash prize.
