COcentric was created under the philosophy that the state of Colorado has so much to offer and so few are trying to showcase it in the correct light. When you ask visitors to this wonderful state what their image of Colorado is you get one of a few answers; The Denver Broncos and their crazy fans, Mountains, and Marijuana. COcentric doesn’t shy away from the truth that these things are a big part of Colorado, but they also want to show everyone, especially Coloradans that there is so much more to the Columbine state.
COcentric has a philosophy that they “want to make it cool to be a gentleman again”. They continue to strive to showcase the Colorado gentleman in a way that makes it sexy and appealing to lead a classy and upstanding life in this wonderful state. CEO Nate Fiedler makes the comment, “Someone needs to take a stand and make it cool to be classy and sophisticated instead of taking the easy route and just selling through sex appeal. It is about time someone creates a social magazine that shows people all of the beautiful things in Colorado that have taste and style.”
COcentric is separated into five different categories that have been well thought through in order to give the good people a taste of all that is Colorado culture, including our history, today’s lifestyle and where we are headed. The categories include Perception, Thirst, Acumen, Hunger, and Momentum.
Perception is an area that covers a wide facet of Colorado life. It is based off the philosophy Perception is Reality. It helps show people how to show who they are to others in a light that gains them the perceived reaction that they are aiming to get. It covers fashion, dating, business etiquette, and everyday rules for being a gentleman.
Thirst is here to showcase drinking in Colorado, because let’s face it, Colorado loves their booze. Some of Colorado’s first businesses were bars and today Colorado has about 150 different breweries alone, that we know about. The Thirst category will help people find out more about this state’s deep and rich history with alcohol and the complexities that surround it today.
Acumen shows the people about small business in Colorado. COcentric believes that the true lifeblood of Colorado is run of off small business. The state thrives off of the small business. The community as a whole dislikes big business and the corporate structure; it goes against the very fabric of their being. What is corporate about the Colorado lifestyle? Not very much, people love getting outdoors, camping, fishing, mountain biking, skiing. And above all else they are a very social society which thrives off of helping each other out rather than taking advantage of others for their own gain. All of these philosophies breed into the culture that promotes the small business and the people who would rather pay a dollar more for bread that is homemade at the corner store than shopping at a goliath shopping center.
Hunger helps bring to light the quickly growing dining scene in Colorado. It didn’t take long for chefs to realize that Colorado is home to some of the most adventurous people ever made. Colorado is perfectly located in the center of the country where the people are given a chance to truly enjoy the cuisines from all corners of our great country and beyond. A big grin comes across the face of CEO Nate Fiedler as he is again quoted, this time talking about the food in Colorado, “Where else can you go to eat and have the opportunity to eat Rocky Mountain Oysters and real oysters in the same sitting.” This open personality to trying new things has given birth to a new breed of chefs and restaurants that are blending together flavors and are putting Colorado dining at the forefront of the restaurant scene in America.
Momentum was created because the words Outdoor Lifestyle are synonymous with Colorado. This section of the magazine showcases all of the outdoor activities that are available in Colorado. It is a well-known fact that Colorado is by far the fittest state in the nation. COcentric aims to remind people why they are awesome and why they love to be active.
