As soon as you enter Co Co. Sala located on 929 F Street NW, the dim lighting, modish décor, and live DJ (on the weekends) set your expectations on a rather high level. Once seated; you can order from an array of menus; evening, dessert, bar bites, and of course a drink menu; a pre-theatre menu is also available. With tantalizing dessert names like “Pucker Up Passion”, and “A Raspberry Affair”; the choice is that much harder to make. The waitress was especially accommodating in taking the time to walk through any menu questions and recommendations.
While waiting for the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate and Moroccan Mint tea to arrive; most of the entertainment lied in watching other diners enjoying their dinners, desserts, and drinks. A plate of beef tenderloin passes by and solidifies that this restaurant is a jack of all trades!
Some More Co Co. and Chocolate Onyx desserts were presented on stark white plates with a signature made bon bon incorporated into each dish. The long deep colored drapes and plush chairs made eating the desserts an event, while the bustling staff dressed in all black catered to the diverse dining crowd; a group of girlfriends on one side, a family catching up on the other, and a couple nuzzled up sharing a plate across the room.
