Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:

Cold Air Funnels, What are they?
This is a column air that rushes down from a cloud or intense shower due to very cold air aloft. This cold air wants to rush to the ground and mix with warm air that is rising at the surface. Typically they can form in very moist environments under upper level lows or left over weak boundaries such as a differential zone between shifting surface winds and tropospheric winds causing lower humidity to clash against an area of higher humidity, such as today along the I-71 corridor. Tornado warnings are not issued for these cases due to hard detection on radar and they are hard to forecast. They rarely touch the ground and if they do it is typically in a stronger shower or storm. They can produce brief weak tornado like winds of around 80 mph, so if you see one touching the ground near by get to a safe place and report it. A special weather statement can be issued to warn the public this way. Normally when they reach the ground its due to a strong upper low and a very moist environment. You do not need a shower or storm to from them. It can be just a small cloud that has a strong updraft, meaning it can build taller.

Synopsis,
Muggy air stick with us through midweek. Tonight, clearing skies and light winds will mean patchy dense fog. Fog burns off tomorrow with Partly cloudy skies and few afternoon pop ups. Heat and humidity builds into Tuesday with highs near 90. A front midweek will bring the next organized batch of severe storms and heavy rains.

Long range:
Wednesday's front will bring cooler and drier air bringing an end to any storms on Thursday and Friday.

The following is the seven day forecast for the Dayton metro area and a 50 mile radius around it. Other metro areas like Columbus, Cincinnati, and Portsmouth are not included. For those areas please request a separate
