If you’re ever up late night to catch Jimmy Fallen writing his “Thank You notes” then you would notice a bit of the same from the Improv Effect when they perform monthly, without a script, on the stage of The Comedy Club in Jacksonville Florida.
This is a local group of people who learn, from teacher and owner Jessie Shternshus, how to think fast on their feet. Besides being quick witted, the Improv Effect group takes pride in remembering what the audience suggests for a particular scenario which the troupe then acts out. Remember, this is all unscripted.
There is a skill to be learned with improvisation and Jessie shows her students to think quickly on your feet, to be able to read others and to collaborate as a team. Improvisation also teaches people to boost their confidence, to listen more effectively and to learn creativity. The Improv Effect is an instantaneous and sheer genius form of entertainment. No physical props are used (except an occasional stool) nevertheless; the team uses loads of invisible item in every show.

Now, allow me to introduce you to “The Comedy Club” where Improv Effect appears quite regularly. The club has only been open for about 12 weeks; notwithstanding, the laughs can be witness weekly from Thursday — Saturday. If you desire an atmosphere that is PG-13, has a full kitchen with delectable food (see a sample of dessert in the Slide Show), then you should join Steve Smith (lovingly known as the “Check Writer”) as he brings the best of comedy to Jacksonville Florida.
