Movie mogul, Tyler Perry's Single Moms Club opened in theaters across the country this weekend. Local groups of women have planned "girls night out" this weekend to see the movie. At the ICON Theatre in downtown Chicago, girlfriends enjoyed sisterhood, laughter and of course, a glass of wine.
The filmed featured an ethnicly, culturally and economically diverse group of women, who just happened to all be single moms. As the movie drew us into their individual struggles; it also revealed the common struggle that all single moms share.
The audience was lively and engaged. At times there were sighs of sadness, nods of agreement, expressions of outrage and outbursts of laughter. The ladies seemed to relate to the characters, which led to relating to each other. People left the theater chatting and networking with each other, and planning support groups for single moms. The Single Moms Club is definitely a great outing for that mom who just needs a few hour to relax and enjoy herself.
