But when in St. Barth's everyone agrees Le Select Restaurant in the city of Gustavia is the place to go to get the original Cheeseburger in Paradise. Open since 1949, Le Select has claimed to serve the Cheeseburger in Paradise since 1978, the year Jimmy Buffet's song debuted.
The place is always crowded so lots of people seem to have heard the story. Ask about the burger and most will say it is good. It is a cheeseburger and it is paradise, so the meal ranks pretty high on the list of good lunches.
But being an island of amazing gastronomical feats, you may start to wonder if there is a burger around of a little better quality. If so, head to the Do Brazil Restaurant on Shell Beach in Gustavia and order their cheeseburger. It costs 25 euros which can translate to around $36.00 depending on the exchange rate, so it could be the most expensive burger ever, but it could be the best tasting burger ever, also.
