Paul Huljich was the successful co-CEO of a company valued at more than $100 million dollars. He has a story worth reading. In his new book Stress Pandemic The Lifestyle Solution (9 Natural Steps to Survive, Master Stress and Live Well) not only will you read about Paul’s spiral downward, but also about ways to avoid stress or find your way out of the tunnel. The spiral is called stress. Many of us believe that stress is the root of all illnesses- both mental and physical. Mr. Huljich spoke with the Boston chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) at the Center Club on August 16, 2012.
Stress Pandemic details Paul’s journey from success to a man facing a life-long sentence of bipolar disorder brought on by too much stress for too long. Paul’s main objective in writing Stress Pandemic is to share with us the 9 essential steps he follows every day in order to manage the stresses in his and thus our lives.
One of the main components of those nine steps is taking care of your body and getting plenty of exercise.
I was given an advanced copy of Stress Pandemic in return for a fair and unbiased review. As one who struggles with panic disorder, I was eager to read it. As a former Social Worker and personal trainer I was eager to read it. I am glad I did and want to share a bit of what I learned and pass it on to our readers.
Paul had a nervous breakdown (Although "nervous breakdown" does not necessarily have a rigorous or static definition, surveys of laypersons suggest that the term refers to a specific acute time-limited reactive disorder, involving symptoms such as anxiety or depression, usually precipitated by external stressors (source) and discovered that doctors believed that he would never find his way back given his stress level and life-style.
Paul found a 9-step solution that he shares with us.“Through trial and error, through research into all facets of health, and through interviewing and speaking with whomever I could find to talk to about health, I began to develop processes to rebuild myself,” Huljich writes in his book.
Starting with 30 days straight, Mr. Huljich reprogrammed his body by kicking old habits and replacing them with his nine natural steps to wellness. Instead of binge eating, he was juicing. Instead of working nonstop, he made time for daily affirmations and learned to say “no.”
Huljich outlines his practical and effective approach to beating stress and achieving complete wellness in Stress Pandemic. Written for the growing number of people who wish to free themselves of mild, moderate or severe stress, the book also addresses the underlying habits and tendencies that cause stress.
