About once a year the Dallas Historical Society offers a Cemetery Tour with the Cemetery Lady, Frances James.

James brims with tidbits and insights about not only the well-known citizens at rest in these historic cemeteries, but also knowledge about the development of the city. Actively involved in preserving cemeteries and protecting the resting place of Dallasites of the past.

With the help of Frances, many newer city developments have been prevented from encroaching on these culturally and historically rich sites. To learn more about Dallas' fascinating roots and those who made Dallas what it is today, join the Cemetery Tour.

$20 for non-members and $10 for members, the tour lasts 2 hours. It is a walking tour, but one short car ride will be necessary to get from Greenwood Cemetery to Cavalry Cemetery and Freedmans Memorial.
