As most of this examiners reviews are more of the rock concert types of shows, I really didn't know what to expect from a dance party/rapper kind of show. This examiner can tell you that I was quite surprised and impressed on how well done it was. Everyone in attendance had the time of their life as did I. Mr. Green knows how to entertain his fans and that's exactly what he did for the entire show.
CeeLo Green is an American recording artist, singer-songwriter, record producer and actor. In 2011 Green also became a talent show judge, working for American reality television singing competition The Voice.
Green came to initial prominence as a member of the southern hip hop group Goodie Mob, and as part of the soul duo Gnarls Barkley, subsequently embarking on a solo career, partially spurred by YouTube popularity. His work has earned numerous awards and accolades, including five Grammy Awards.
The night started off with rapper "Printz", he was backed by Greens band. His set lasted about 20 minutes and went like this, (from the set list on stage)
"Abracadabra", "Turn The Party Up", "Mountains", "Black N Gold" and "Hey You!".
Next with no break in the show came "DJ Tina T", her set went around 15 minutes. This was my first time seeing a DJ and I must say I was impressed, this girl tore it up and had everyone dancing the whole time.
CeeLo Green hit the stage minutes later, the place went wild as soon as he walked on stage. He was escorted on stage by his two very good looking back-up singers. His band, made up of mostly very beautiful girls and two guys in the horn section. The band blew the roof off the Grande Exposition Hall. Not only were all the girls in the band gorgeous, but they could actually play very well. I was very much impressed with all of them. They really tore it up.
Green's set went well over 60 minutes and went just like this, (also from the set list on stage)
"The Lady Killer Theme", " Bright Lights Bigger City", "Electric Feel", "Let's Dance" (David Bowie cover), "Champain", "Ghost Town", "Nasty Girl", "Don't Cha" (Pussycat Dolls cover), "Fool For You", "Glitter/Satisfied", "Gone Daddy Gone", "Sweet Georgia Brown", "Amy", "Crazy", "Forget You" and "Walk Off Bright Lights (guitar solo).
Green had the entire venue on their feet the whole time he was on stage. People were gettin' down in every isle and every where in between. During his hit song Forget You, he let a couple of young fans up on stage to help out as back-up dancers. You could tell they were very happy to help out. It was awesome.
For being this examiners first time covering a show like this, I must say that I was very impressed with the whole thing. I can now see why everyone loves a CeeLo Green show. Nothing short of a good time for everybody involved.
CeeLo Green is an entertainer you don't want to miss any time you have a chance. Now I know why.
A great time was had by all.
The Silver Legacy Resort & Casino as always is one of the best places to see a show in Reno. The staff and security are top notch and very friendly. To see what's coming up next. (click here)
