When it comes to smooth jazz, no one does it like Rob Tardik. With "The Right Time," his second album, he proves once more why he totally deserves his 2010 Canadian Smooth Jazz Guitarist of the Year Award.
From "Cruisin" to "Waiting for Rain" to "Right Time," the 12-track album is a non-stop ride to the land of great music. Tardik plays all guitars and is accompanied by excellent musicians: Carson Freeman (saxophone), Jeff Salem (drums), Chris Freeman (bass) and Davir Jordanovski (piano). The quality of the recording is amazing, emphasizing Tardik's flawless fingering technique, effortless style and joyful energy.
Tardik's style is a mixture of Steve Hackett and Santana, powered by Canadian magic — the one that does not need lyrics to move listeners. As a result, everything the artist creates turns into gold. "The Right Time" is no exception. It is one of those albums to which you can listen over and over again without ever feeling tired. The music is so relaxing that you will find yourself craving it on any occasion. All the tracks blend together to form a seamless whole.
Whether you are into smooth jazz or not, "The Right Time" is definitely an album that you will want to have on your shelf. Rob Tardik is a master at what he does and it would be a waste not to give it a listen!
