When you are poised on the edge of success like this band is, the stars have to align perfectly at the right moment and it surely looks like they are for Detroit rockers Pistol Day Parade. Their new release, "Burn" dropped this month and is the vessel that should take them to the mountain top. It is a powerful collection of everything from hard rocking tracks that are incredibly well-produced and sound amazingly smooth and strong.
Expanding beyond local radio, two of PDP's tracks have been featured on XM Radio's "Sixx Sense" with Nikki Sixx. They were also featured in an article this month in the Detroit Free Press by Rachel May. In addition, WRIF-FM here in Detroit has been playing "Better" and "Rockstar's Girlfriend" for a while now and have begun playing the newest single, "Not Today" as well. They are all getting great reactions from listeners but those are not the only great tracks on this effort.
The pounding track "High" is one of my favorites as is the edgy and haunting "Down On Me" and the almost symphonic "Angels On Fire". Another track worth mentioning is the emotional grinder "New Life". These tracks have just enough of an edge to cut through all the white noise that is permeating the airwaves on the radio while still having just enough polish to sound radio friendly enough to get mass airplay.
All in all, "Burn" is a force to be reckoned with from beginning to end and I highly recommend it. I wanted to give this 4 1/2 stars but it wouldn't let me give a half a star. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I expect even greater things from this band in the future... a future that is very bright, indeed.
